Budgam KP protest site visit: LG assures KPs of meeting demands

Budgam: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday evening reached Pandit Colony Sheikhpura Budgam where PM Package Employees have been protesting since last 12 days over the killing of government employee Rahul Bhat at his office in Chadoora Budgam.

Sources told that KPs who were on sit-in protest at Pandit Colony Sheikhpura Budgam were demanding that LG should visit the spot and give them assurance about their safety. However, even after Sinha gave them personal assurance about fulfilling all their demands, the protesting Kashmiri Pandits at Sheikhpora, Budgam Monday said they won't end their protest till all their demands are met.

Protesters told that LG came here and he assured them that all their demands would be fulfilled. “Let's see what happens. We will continue our sit-in protest till our demands are met,” they said.

Another protester said that time is witness that whatever demands were put forth by them took years. “We are not going to end our protest till we feel satisfied,” he said.

Earlier, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar had met the protesting Kashmiri Pandits however they were reluctant to call off protests and were demanding security and relocation.
