, Jan 17 (KNS): Sheikh Abdul Rashid the independent MLA representing Langate constituency here on Wednesday levelled serious allegations of bribery in the transfers of Engineers in PHE and Irrigation and Flood Control Departments held by BJP minister Sham Lal Chowdhary.

Replying to the charges of Abdul.Rashid, the parliamentary affairs minister Abdul Rahman Veeri told Rashid to prove the charges of bribery against the minister holding the charge of PHE, Irrigation and flood control departments.

However Sham Lal Chowdhary the minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control presenting the house stood up and asked Rashid to prove charges with critical evidence. Sham Lal said “if charges are proved I will quit but if charges are not proved, I would like to ask Mr. Rashid to quit as MLA if he fails to prove the charges”.

Abdul Rashid in his allegations accused the minister of demanding bribe of two lakhs from Junior Engineers, 3 lakhs from assistant executive engineers and 5 lakhs from executive engineers for their transfers.
