Manjit expresses shock over tragic road mishap

Tawi: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu Manjit Singh today expressed serious concern over the loss of previous lives in the tragic road mishap in Doda district.

In his statement, Manjit Singh expressed his sympathy with the family members of the deceased and demanded ex-gratia to the next of kins of the deceased persons.

He said that the injured should be provided specialized treatment and the critically injured should be shifted outside J&K for advanced treatment so that their lives can be saved.

He further said that the tragic road accident is a glaring example of the risks to the commuters of the worsened condition of roads in the hilly district.

“The Govt must constitute a committee to look into the cause of the road mishap, and those over 15 years old should not be allowed to run on the roads/highways in the hilly districts,” he suggested.

He said that the Govt committee must be headed by a retired High Court Judge and its recommendations should be implemented within a time limit.

He said that the road mishaps have become a routine in these hilly districts.
