5th Holi Cup Cricket Tournament T-20 GCC defeats BCC by 3 wickets; sails into semis

Tawi, Feb 23: Gorkha Club (GCC) sailed through the semi-finals of the ongoing 5th Holi Cup Cricket tournament after defeating Bhagwati Cricket Club by 3 wickets in the first quarter final match being played at Khel Gaon Cricket Stadium, Nagrota. The tournament is being organized by Sachin Singh.

Earlier, winning the toss BCC skipper Surinder opted to bat first but GCC bowlers especially Nitin (4-0-19-4) and Anshu (4-0-29-2) bowled with teasing line and length and didn't let the BCC batters to capitalize on their start. Gonchi (21), Sukhvinder (17), Surinder (16) and Sameer (16) were the main contributors with the bat. Rahul, Rana, Anuj also got one wicket each.

In reply, GCC also lost 3 early wickets but Manish (34) and Anish (33) stabilized the GCC innings. BCC bowlers Sukhvinder (2 wkts), Sonu, Gonchi, Babloo, Rishu (1 wicket each) bowled with nagging line and length took wickets at regular intervals but GCC lower-order batters keep their composure and chased the score on the second-last ball of their innings.

Later, Nitin (4-0-19-4) from GCC was declared as Player of the match for his brilliant bowling spell, he was presented a memento by the organizer.
