Women Commission begins clearance of pending cases
SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 06: With an aim to clear all the pending cases amid sub-zero weather conditions in Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir State Commission for Women today started a massive campaign to clear all the pending cases lying with it in Srinagar.
This move would give much needed relief to the women complainants from Kashmir including victims of domestic violence, marital disputes, maintenance issue, harassment at work place, custody of children etc.
“Though we are in Jammu for next few months with the annual Durbar Move, yet we were aware that there is a pendency of the cases in our Srinagar office as on an average we receive 10-12 cases per day there. Thus we wanted to resolve the pending cases,” informed Nayeema Ahmed Mahjoor, Chairperson, J&KSCW. “We hope to resolve a good number of cases by 25 December 2016,” she added.
All the parties involved in such disputes have been informed through post, emails and phone calls. The Commission hopes to clear a backlog of over 100 cases in Kashmir.
