Srinagar, Sep 21: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday said it is heartening to see women folk scaling new heights in the social, political and financial frameworks in and .

He said Apni Party believes that women possess an immense potential to give a new direction to society and the only requirement is that they are provided with an equal opportunity to prove themselves in all the fields of private and public life.

Bukhari was speaking on the sidelines of Party's women convention at Party's Central Office in M2 Church Lane, Sonwar where a women specific initiative ‘SAHULIYAT' was launched by the Party.

He said that the women have rendered immense sacrifice in retaining the cohesion and social fabric across Jammu and Kashmir and have always carved a niche in all their capacities.

He said that Apni Party wants socio-economic and political empowerment of the women whose emancipation lays the foundation of any civilized society in the .

The women participants present on the occasion lauded the efforts of party leadership in relation to the resolution of women grievances and also vowed to strengthen the party cadres via connecting more women to this much needed initiative.

The leadership present on the occasion included Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, Former Minister and Senior Apni party leader Mohammad Dilawar Mir, General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, Provincial President Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Mir, State Secretary Muntazir Mohi-ud-din, Media Advisor Farooq Andrabi, Provincial President Women Wing Dilshad Shaheen and Party Leader Mir Imaad Rafi.

Besides Women District President Srinagar Iram Latief, Jameela Khan, Women District President Budgam Shakeela Bano, Women District President Kulgam Arifa Begum, Somia Sadaf, District Secretary Ganderbal Kulsum, Coordinator Srinagar Rafiqa, Zamrooda and Shaista were also present on this occasion—(KNO)
