Doda, July 26
Two persons were killed in a road accident early this morning on Tuesday, when a vehicle they were traveling in skidded off the track and rolled down into deep gorge at Khelani area of the mountainous district Doda.
The deceased has been identified as Amit Kumar son of Ram Lal of Roop Nagar, Jammu and Ramesh Kumar son of Mahraj Pandita of Jagti-Nagrota.
The incident occurred at around 6:47 am at Khelani about 15 kilometers from the district headquarters, when a Maruti Alto bearing registration number JK02BK-8974 skidded off the road. The vehicle was coming from Doda towards Jammu and reportedly driver lost control over the vehicle.
Superintendent District Hospital Doda, Parminder Singh has confirmed the incident and said, “Bodies have been shifted to the mortuary room for the postmortem and after autopsy bodies will be handed over to the families for the last rites after completed all legal formalities.”
However, police has registered a case and investigation is on.
