    Three Haryana Men Killed, Two Injured In Jammu Highway Crash

    JAMMU, June 14: Three residents of Haryana were killed and two others injured after a car collided head-on with a bus near Nagrota on the outskirts of Jammu during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, police said.

    The accident occurred around 2.15 a.m. near Jagti in the Nagrota area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. According to police, the car, bearing registration number HR29BB-2127, was travelling towards Jammu when it collided with a bus bearing registration no. (JK02AJ9933) heading towards Udhampur.

    All five occupants of the car sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu. Two of them were declared dead on arrival, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment.

    The deceased were identified as Sikander Saifi, Shakti and Mohit Verma, all residents of Ballabgarh, Haryana.

    The injured, Deepak Verma and Kuldeep Sharma, are undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu, officials said.

    Police said the bus driver fled the scene after the accident. A case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances leading to the collision. (Agencies)
