“Remembering saviour of J&K, the great warrior Brig. Rajinder Singh Ji on his Jayanti. The nation remains forever indebted to his supreme sacrifice & love for motherland. His life, unmatched gallantry continue to inspire every Indian to uphold ideals of duty & service to nation,” Sinha said in a post on X.
Born on June 14, 1899, Brigadier Singh and his 100 soldiers battled, and delayed Pakistani tribal invaders at Uri on October 26, 1947 till the Indian Army arrived in Srinagar following Maharaja Hari Singh signing the document of accession to the union of India. (Agencies)
