    Three die, 349 test positive in J&K

    Jammu Tawi, Jan 06: Jammu and Thursday reported three deaths and 349 fresh positive cases of Covid-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 2,049 while 98575 doses of vaccination administered in the last 24 hrs.

    With three more deaths- two from Jammu division and one from Kashmir, the death toll in J&K has reached to 4,533 and 349 fresh positive cases reported on Thursday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 342,768.

    Of the exact number of 342,768 cases, 215,721 are from Kashmir division and 127,047 from Jammu division.

    Among 349 new cases, 147 belong to Kashmir division while as 202 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 215,721 including 212,402 recoveries and 2,332 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 127,047 including 123,784 recoveries and 2,201 deaths.

    The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,049 including 987 from Kashmir division and 1,062 from Jammu division.With 116 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 336,186 which is 98.08 percent of the total cases.

    Nine staffers in Jammu Smart City Project Office at Bahu Plaza were reported positive as per their RTPCR test report. The J&K Bank Gandhi Nagar Branch and city showrooms of Pantaloon and Trends were today sealed after their staffers found Covid positive. Meanwhile, the District Magistrate declares six containment zones in Jammu after reporting of Covid cases in the areas.

    “Cases tested positive in J&K include 202 from Jammu division include 119 from Jammu division, 14 from Udhampur, 08 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 07 from Kathua, 02 from Samba, 04 from Kishtwar, 13 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 33 from Reasi while as 80 from Srinagar, 21 from Baramulla, 16 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 09 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 00 each from Kulgam and 01 Shopian in Kashmir division,” officials disclosed.
