Jammu, Apr 3: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against an accused for allegedly harbouring terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF) in connection with the killing of a civilian in Thanamandi.
SIA J&K submitted the chargesheet against Sabar Hussain, who is accused of providing shelter, food, and logistical support to three LeT/TRF terrorists at his seasonal hut in Chamrer, facilitating the brutal attack that killed Mohd Razaq. His brother, Tahir Khurshid alias Tahir Fauji, a TA jawan, was injured in the attack.
The incident occurred on April 22, 2024, when unidentified terrorists entered Razaq’s residence at Kunda, Shahdara Sharief, Thanamandi, and opened indiscriminate fire. Following the attack, Police Station Thanamandi registered a case, which was later transferred to SIA for a detailed probe.
During the investigation, crucial evidence was recovered, and statements of key witnesses were recorded under relevant legal provisions. Investigators established that Sabar Hussain, son of Mohd Rashid, resident of Khabalwali, Shahdara Sharief (A/P Chamrer, Surankote, Poonch), harboured the terrorists between late June and early July 2024.
Prima facie offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, have been established against the accused, leading to the filing of the chargesheet. (Agencies)
