The temperatures across Jammu Kashmir increased again on Saturday with the MeT department predicting a heat wave for next 72 hours.
A MeT official said temperature increased in Jammu region today with Jammu recording a maximum temperature of 37.4 degree Celsius.
Banihal recorded a maximum temperature of 32.0 degree Celsius while Batote, Katra and Bhaderwah recorded a maximum temperature of 29.3 degree Celsius, 33.5 degree Celsius and 34.2 degree Celsius respectively.
The MeT has forecast a heatwave in Jammu and Kashmir for next 72 hours.
The mercury also increased in Qazigund and Kokernag in south Kashmir settled at 33.4 degree Celsius and 33.0 degree Celsius respectively.
“Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4 degree Celsius, which was 4.3 degree above normal,” he said.
In the famous tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir, mercury settled at 29.9 degree Celsius. In Kupwara, temperature settled at 34.6 degree Celsius.
The world famous ski resort of Gulmarg recorded a maximum temperature of 24.5 degree Celsius.
