Supplementary EVM-VVPAT randomization held

The District Election Officer (DEO), Budgam, Syed Sehrish Asgar today supervised the supplementary randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) – Voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) for the upcoming Lok Sabha General Elections-2019 in the district.
The supplementary randomization was held through the EVM Management Software System.
The DEO also reviewed the arrangements being put in place at all designated polling stations to ensure free and fair elections. She said that separate Nodal Officers have been designated for the Model Polling Stations where wheelchairs will be provided to persons with special needs to enable them to reach polling booths in hassle-free manner for casting vote. Facilities like ramps at polling stations, facilities at model polling stations and polling staff for women polling stations was also discussed threadbare at the review meeting. The meeting also discussed arrangements related to boarding and lodging of polling staff where the DEO emphasized concerned to ensure provision of all basic amenities.
