Jammu, Mar 02: Government SPMR College of Commerce today lifted overall championship trophy in the Inter- College (men) Pencak Silat competition, organised by the Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) at GGM Science College, here. Commerce College secured highest 47 points out of seven gold and four silver medals in this event which took place involving participants from three city colleges of MAM, GGM Science College and SPMR College of Commerce.
Overall second place went to GGM Science College with 28 points while MAM College remained third with 13 points. Dr. Naveen Anand, Dean Academic Affairs of CLUJ was the chief guest while Prof. Anil Verma was guest of honour. This tournament was organized under the overall supervision of Dr Vinod Bakshi, Sports Coordinator of CLUJ. Among others present were Prof. Rajeev, Aijaz Malik, Dr Roopali Slathia, Neelam Sawhney, Neelam Chalotra, Neelam Sharma and Rohnik Bhargav.
The competition officiated by the technical penal including Karan Wattal, Wajid Hussain Shah, Aadhishwar Vaid, Robain Gill and Komal Dhiman. Meanwhile, on winning the title trophy, the Pencak Silat team of SPMR College of Commerce felicitated by the Principal, Prof Surinder Sharma in the presence of senior faculty and Director Physical Education, Aijaz Malik.
