Jammu Tawi, Jan 24: The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) is most likely to chair the All Party Meeting (APM) on 31st of January ahead of the second Budget session beginning from 2nd of February onwards.
“The decision regarding the date for holding All Party Meeting (APM) before the start of the Budget session at Jammu will be taken on the next working day,” Speaker of J&K Assembly, AR Rather, informed the Northlines.
However, highly placed sources said that the APM will be held on 31st of this for which the invitation to all the parties would be sent soon.
The next working day is Tuesday i.e 27th of January and the call for holding the All Party Meeting to be convened by the Speaker may be taken on this day, they said.
The APM to be convened by the Speaker is aimed at taking all party members on board for smooth conduct of House proceedings.
It may be mentioned that the ruling National Conference (NC) has 41 MLAs, the Congress has 6, while main opposition BJP has 29 MLAs in the 90 member Assembly of J&K.
Meanwhile, the J&K BJP today conducted a workshop at its party office, Trikuta Nagar, wherein the first time MLAs and also the others were trained on how to conduct in the House and raise public issues.
