Snowfall In Leh Halts Flight Services; IndiGo Issues Advisory

New Delhi, Jan 5: Flight operations at Leh airport were disrupted on Monday after heavy snowfall forced the temporary suspension of all take-offs and landings, prompting IndiGo Airlines to issue a travel advisory for passengers.

The airline said services have been put on hold due to adverse weather conditions, cautioning travellers about possible extended wait times at the airport and on board aircraft. IndiGo noted that boarding for affected flights may be completed in advance to enable quick departures once clearance is granted.

“We understand that delays can be inconvenient, and we assure you that our team remains fully committed to making your wait as comfortable as possible,” IndiGo said in a statement.

The airline added that it is closely monitoring the weather situation and will resume operations as soon as conditions improve. Passengers have been advised to check the latest flight status through the IndiGo website or mobile application before proceeding to the airport.

IndiGo also said passengers impacted by the disruption can opt to rebook on alternate flights or seek refunds in line with its policy. Further updates on flight operations are expected later in the day as weather conditions are reviewed. (Agencies)
