SKUAST-TAJ extends 4 lacs aid to save life of PG student

Tawi: SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ), has extended its philanthropic hand to the family of MSc. student of the varsity by contributing towards medical expenses.

SKUAST-J student Ms Padma Angmo R/o Hemis Chomoling, Kharu, , , pursuing M.Sc. in the Division of Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry has been hit by a speedy truck and shifted to Govt. Medical College (GMC), Jammu. The doctors treating the case stated that her condition is very critical and requires immediate shifting to AIIMS, New Delhi by air ambulance for further treatment that requires an expenditure of Rs. 4.00 lakhs. Vice Chancellor SKUAST-J Dr P.K. Sharma promptly sanctioned a temporary advance of Rs 400,000 for immediate shifting of the girl to the Premier Medical Institute of the Country and President-TAJ assured the VC that money will be refunded back.

President SKUAST-TAJ, Dr. Vikas Sharma said that on the initiative of association, teachers, non-teaching staff and students of SKUAST-Jammu collected a cash amount of Rs. 4,00,000/- (Four lakhs) and handed over a cheque amounting Rs 400,000 to Dr. S.K. Sen Comptroller, SKUAST Jammu. Dr Vivak M Arya, General Secretary of the association stated that the condition of girl is stable, she is out of danger and improving day by day in AIIMS, New Delhi. Director Research Dr. J. P. Sharma, who is also holding the charge of VC SKUAST-J, lauded the efforts of association in this regard and hoped that the association will continue with this humanitarian endeavor. Dean, Dr. D.P. Abrol, Deputy Comptroller Sh Sohan lal Sharma, Dr Devinder Sharma, Dr Rajiv Bharat, Dr Anil Bhat, Warden Girls Hostel Dr Sushmita Dadichi and student representative Mr. Vishaw Vikas were also present on the occasion.
