    Sgr records coldest night of season

    No wet spell till the end of Nov
    Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNO): As the is expected to
    remain dry for next ten days, the minimum temperature
    plummeted across the Valley while Srinagar, the summer
    capital of and , recorded coldest night of the
    season at minus 0.8 degree Celsius as the mercury settled
    below freezing point for the first time in this winter.
    Most of the places in Kashmir recorded sub zero
    temperature in the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday
    while Pahalgam was the coldest place, where the mercury
    settled at minus 4.8 degrees Celsius.
    The mercury in Kupwara settled at minus 2.9 degrees
    Celsius while in Qazigund, it was recorded at minus 1.6
    degrees Celsius. The famous ski-resort of Kashmir,
    Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 3.8 degrees Celsius.
    The minimum temperature further plummeted at Drass in
    Ladakh Union Territory where the mercury settled at a low of
    minus 13.5 degrees Celsius.
    Talking to KNO, Deputy Director Meteorological department
    (MeT), Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said that the minimum
    temperature would go down further in coming days. “The
    night temperature may go down further as there is no
    forecast of any wet spell till the end of this month,” he said.
