Security Forces Launch Search Op After Suspicious Movement in Poonch

Jammu, Nov 5: Security forces have launched a massive search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district after reports of suspicious movement along the border, officials said on Wednesday.

The joint operation, involving the Army, Special Operations Group (SOG), and CRPF, was initiated in the Balakote-Mendhar sector following inputs about the presence of suspected individuals in the area.

Officials said that troops have cordoned off several locations and intensified surveillance to prevent any infiltration attempt or militant activity. Local residents have been asked to remain vigilant and report any unusual activity to the nearest security post.

The security alert comes a day after a suspicious drone was recovered in the Sakhi Maidan area of Mendhar, raising concerns over possible cross-border activity.

Sources said the forces are maintaining a strict watch along the Line of Control (LoC) as part of heightened border security measures in the region. (Agencies)
