Rs 86,300 fine charged from 83 erring traders

The market checking squads of Legal Metrology have charged Rs 86,300 fine from 83 operators during massive market checking drive launched to keep check on quality of food and rates during the holy month of Ramzan. The teams conducted checking of business operators dealing with meat, poultry, vegetables, fruits, milk products etc in different districts of Jammu province. The checking squads booked 95 business operators of which 83 business operators confessed to the violations of various types. They were compounded for Rs 86,300.
Meanwhile, the checking squads also destroyed rotten vegetable, cheese and other eatables.
