    Address Rohingyas’ Intrusion!

One can say that illegal immigrants, namely Rohingyas are no less than a ticking bomb because these people can act as a potential danger and can bring instability in the region.

The presence of these foreigners could lead to problems or conflicts, potentially escalating into a larger crisis as the issues concerning this community include tensions between refugees and local communities, security concerns, or the challenge of supporting such a large number of illegally displaced communities. Moreover, one cannot rule out that some individuals within these refugee groups might be radicalized, leading to instability and law and order crisis.

It is good that the police has decided to launch a crackdown on entire support base of Rohingyas in  Jammu by coming down heavily on all those providing logistic and material support to the Myanmarese who have illegally settled in different parts of Jammu region after infiltrating into the country mainly through West Bengal and Assam.

Reportedly, a census of the Rohingyas conducted by police and Intelligence agencies have confirmed that there are around 6500 Myanmarese in Jammu district settled in areas including Narwal, Bhatindi, Railway Station, Qasim Nagar, Channi Rama, etc, besides 550 in Samba and 200 at Hiranagar Holding Centre in Kathua district. However, unconfirmed reports put the number of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi nationals settled in Jammu at 13,700.

The cops should maintain proper vigil in the localities where these illegal immigrants have taken refuge because chances are there that these people could be swayed to indulge in anti-national activities for the reason that they are zero percent nationalists due to their foreign origin.

The people of the region should also make it a point that they show no regard towards this community because their involvement in many crimes has already raised the eyebrows of the police and other intelligence agencies.

The need of the hour is that only government agencies should deal with this illegal community and not the people, because these people are a big threat to security in the region and therefore showing any kind of complacency can give rise to serious repercussions, which should not be the case.
