RAJOURI, Jan 22: The district administration of Rajouri has declared the Badhal area a containment zone following the tragic deaths of 17 individuals, impacting three families. The order prohibits all public and private gatherings in the region as a precautionary measure to control the spread of the infection.
The District Magistrate issued an order designating the affected families’ homes as “Containment Zone 1,” where entry will be strictly prohibited unless authorized by designated officials. Additionally, families identified as close contacts of the deceased will be relocated to GMC Rajouri for continuous health monitoring under the “Containment Zone 2” directive.
To further curb potential spread, Badhal Village has been placed under “Containment Zone 3,” with staff deployed to monitor and manage food distribution. Police personnel will be stationed to oversee compliance, ensuring that food consumption is logged three times daily for accountability.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the cause of the deaths, which have sparked concerns about public health in the region. These measures are part of the effort to prevent further fatalities and protect the community from the ongoing threat.
