Srinagar, June 13: A 19-year-old resident of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) was apprehended after crossing the Line of Control (LoC) in the Karnah sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday evening, officials said.
The intruder, identified as Assad Khan, and a resident of Muzaffarabad, was reportedly spotted by locals after crossing into this side and was later handed over to Army personnel.
Officials said he was being questioned.
Khan is the second intruder from PoJK to have been detained near the LoC in Kashmir in past fortnight.
On June 1, a 22-year-old resident of PoK, identified as Zeeshan Ahmad of Haveli Kahuta, was detained after crossing into the Uri sector of Baramulla district, allegedly following a social media romance. He was detained near Silikote, a border village close to the LoC in Uri sector of Baramulla district. (Agencies)
