New Delhi, Jul 23: At a time when hard political lines and acrimonious scenes have become the order of the day in Parliament, officials at the Lok Sabha Secretariat are quietly working on highlighting a lesser-known aspect — the wit and humour of MPs — that may have got drowned in the pandemonium. At the end of each working day, the officials go through TV footage of the day’s proceedings and jot down witty and satirical exchanges between the MPs, to be uploaded in the ‘Wit and Humour’ section of Digital Sansad, the new Parliament website that was soft launched in April this year. Although the lighter moments were always captured in the House records, this is the first time they are being made accessible to the general public at the click of the mouse.
