OnePlus is gearing up to unveil a new addition to their popular Nord series lineup. In a recent teaser, the company hinted that their next mid-range device will feature a metal construction, breaking away from plastic designs seen in previous Nord phones.
Dubbed “Metal welded with Mettle”, the teaser emphasizes the smartphone will be crafted from premium metals, bringing a more sturdy and sophisticated feel. This suggests OnePlus is aiming to elevate the design and build quality of their Nord series to compete at the higher end of the budget market.
Rumors suggest the device may be called the Nord 4 and leaks provide some alleged specs of the phone. It is said to sport a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with the powerful Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset. Camera specs remain unclear but could include a dual rear setup headlined by a 50MP main sensor.
Additional details point to a 5,500mAh battery with fantastically fast 100W charging, an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers and the alert slider signature to OnePlus phones. The device is expected to launch with OxygenOS based on Android 14 out of the box.
While full details will be unveiled at the July 16th event, it's clear OnePlus aims to raise the bar for its Nord series. With a focus on premium materials and powerful specs, the new model looks to bring flagship-caliber features to the budget segment.
