NCB Secures Bail Cancellation of International Drug Smuggler Pupinder Singh

Jammu Tawi: In a major achievement for law enforcement, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Jammu, together with Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Singh Manhas, has successfully secured the cancellation of bail for accused Pupinder Singh @ Rav S/o Avtar Singh, a notorious international drug smuggler. After hearing both NCB and accused Special Judge (NDPS Cases), Jammu cancelled the bail of accused citing misuse of liberty granted to accused. The accused was granted opportunity to file objections to the application for cancellation of bail, but he failed to file objections after repeated adjournments as opportunity was misused by the accused as a dilatory tactic to protract proceedings aimed at postponement and obstruction of justice.

Despite earlier securing bail, Pupinder Singh’s release was contested by the NCB due to repeated violations of bail conditions and his involvement in multiple FIRs registered by Punjab Police and other agencies. Leveraging robust legal strategies and persistent follow-up by Public Prosecutor Ajay Singh Manhas, NCB established Singh’s continued criminal activities, including drug smuggling via cross-border networks using drones, and his ties to Pakistani handlers. Singh’s history includes a prior dismissal from the Border Security Force for heroin smuggling at the India-Pakistan border.
This coordinated action led to the recent cancellation of his bail on 18-11-2025. Punjab Police has also sought his custody for further investigation, underlining ongoing cooperation for dismantling major trafficking networks. The case demonstrates the dedication and professional excellence of NCB Jammu and Special PP Ajay Singh Manhas in their fight against organized narcotics crime.
