Last efforts between political parties over Govt formation

Amid reports that BJP was trying to form government with the support of disgruntled leaders of other parties, the last efforts between the PDP and Congress are still going on even though they are short of numbers.
Sources said PDP President Mehbooba Mufti is in New Delhi for the last few days. “She may be holding talks with some Congress leaders. There are less chances of government formation of the PDP and Congress as there are many disgruntled MLAs who won't support their alliance,” a Congress leader said.
Two weeks after the BJP pulled out from the alliance, three MLAs have revolted against the PDP leadership.
Former PDP minister and MLA Pattan Imran Raza Ansari and his uncle Abid Raza Ansari Monday held Mehbooba Mufti responsible for the fall in the PDP-BJP government in the state.
Another PDP leader and MLA Tangmarg Mohammad Abbas Wani also came in support of Imran. “There are many PDP MLAs who would revolt against the PDP,” a PDP leader said.
Leading the revolt against Mehbooba, Imran, who was a minister in her government, called her “incompetent” and accused her of nepotism. A day earlier, his uncle Abid made similar charges against the former CM at a public meeting.
Abid said, “I told what is going wrong in the party. There is family dynasty in the PDP.”
While Imran claimed that Mehbooba was giving least importance to party MLAs. “She only used to listen to the advice of her relatives, who were in her inner coterie,” he said. “Mehbooba's incompetence as a leader resulted in the failure of the government machinery,” he said.
Meanwhile, Congress party on Tuesday held a closed door meeting here. However, it was decided according to sources it will not be possible for government formation in the state. After the meeting, JK Congress chief G A Mir said that “those dreaming of forming government must know that state has stringent anti-defection law.” He demanded immediate dissolution of assembly to prevent horse trading.
“Be it Kavinder Gupta or any other person, they must read state's anti-defection law which doesn't allow any such malpractice. Our anti-defection law is much stringent than central law. But how can a party which has a habit of taking law into their own hands. Congress won't be part of this mess,” Mir said while addressing media men here.
BJP leader Kavindar Gupta has said, “In the coming days, I see dissatisfied MLAs not just from PDP, but also from Congress and Conference, are likely to join forces and form a new front.”
However, Mir refused to comment on the internal crisis of PDP. “It is their internal matter. Keeping assembly in suspended animation will promote horse trading which is unfortunate. State is already facing problems since the BJP-PDP took over reins of governance.”
“We had requested Governor Vohra sahab during all party meeting that if any major political party is not coming forward to form government. He should dissolve assembly. Vohra sahab is able administrator and during the meeting he told us that he would consult legal expert on this matter.”
On being asked about BJP trying to cobble alliance, he said, “If any party has number they should come before media and people. So that they are given time to form government by the Governor. But horse trading should not be allowed at all.”
