Mahindra Announces Plans to Reveal an Upgraded Version of its Iconic Thar SUV
Automobile giant Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to take the wraps off an advanced five-door version of its immensely popular Thar SUV on Independence Day. Dubbed the ‘Thar ROXX’, the upcoming vehicle looks to further strengthen the brand’s domination in the off-road segment.
In an official statement, the company highlighted how the Thar ROXX will empower customers to “experience uncharted territories in utmost luxury and comfort”. Veejay Nakra, President of M&M’s automotive division stated that while staying true to the core Thar experience, the new five-door model represents “larger than life personality” and will disrupt the competitive SUV landscape.
Sources indicate that the Thar ROXX is expected to boast a more opulent cabin with additional features compared to the existing three-door model. Under the hood, both petrol and diesel engine options are likely to be on offer. In the month of June, Mahindra sold over 5,300 units of the standard Thar, cementing its position as a popular choice among adventure enthusiasts.
With the reveal of the high-end Thar ROXX, Mahindra looks to appeal to those seeking more sophistication without compromising on the trademark go-anywhere capability of the venerable nameplate. Its launch will be keenly anticipated on August 15th for what it could mean for the company’s growing strength in the lucrative SUV segment.
