LED distribution vans under UJALA scheme flagged off

District Development Commissioner Kathua Rohit Khajuria flagged off three LED Distribution Vehicle under ‘UJALA' scheme to cover 19 different villages under first phase of the programme at DC office today. While speaking on the occasion, DDC disclosed that district administration has devised a calendar to cover rural habitations under ‘UJALA' Scheme where villages namely Padyari, Mirpur Jagoo, Nagrota, Kore Punnu, Flote, Budhi of Barnoti block, village Bigwan, Narolian, Badala, Chack Sardar Desa Singh, Maha, Flote, Mirpur Ram, Kirpal, ChackGadhar, Jarai of Kathua block, village ChackNathal of Hiranagar block and village Dharamkote of block Billawar will be covered starting from 17th April 2018 to 5th May 2018. The families of the villages will be provided LED bulbs at subsidized cost Rs 50 per LED bulb. The DDC informed that Rural Electrification campaign under ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyan' is also initiated wherein teams of Power Development Department will organize camps in all nineteen identified villages under first phase to ensure power connections to all households. He appealed people to avail this opportunity to get valid electricity connection along with LED bulbs to avoid any disconnection. He directed officers and field staff of PDD to ensure no house shall be left out. Superintendent Engineer Sandeep Seth, XEN PDD(M&RE) Karam Chand, XEN STD Mohammad Shafi were also present.
