Virat Kohli reveals daughter starting to swing bat as football legend Sunil Chhetri bids adieu

Date:

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli has revealed that his young daughter Vamika seems to be displaying an interest in the game, with the toddler taking a liking to swinging a miniature bat. Kohli, who had an illustrious career for Team with numerous batting records to his name, was speaking to popular comedian Danish Sait in a recent interview posted on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) social media handles.

When questioned about any cricket influences on his family, Kohli stated that while it's still too early to say whether Vamika will take up the sport, she has begun experimenting with basic batting fundamentals. “Vamika has been enjoying holding a child-sized bat and mimicking swinging motions in the backyard. However, as with any pursuit, it will ultimately be her personal decision when older” said the former skipper. Kohli reiterated that he wants his children to find their passion, regardless of any expectations from his professional career.

In the same interview, Kohli also opened up about correspondence with iconic footballer Sunil Chhetri who recently announced his retirement after a storied career serving Indian football. Kohli recalled receiving a private message from Chhetri informing of the decision in advance, expressing complete respect for the timing and sentiment behind the legendary striker calling it a day for the team. Kohli praised Chhetri's distinguished service and admired his composure in walking away at the right moment on his own terms.
