SRINAGAR, July 24: The Directorate of Fisheries, Jammu and Kashmir, has suspended two officials with immediate effect after they were allegedly found absent from duty without authorization during a surprise inspection of the Fish Farm at Kohru in Handwara, Kupwara district.
The action followed an inspection by the Director of Fisheries on July 19, during which Field Supervisor Nazir Ahmed Wani and Orderly Mohd. Rafiq Lone were found missing from their assigned duties.
Pending a departmental inquiry, both officials have been attached to the Trout Fish Farm, Laribal, Dachigam, Srinagar, as per the department’s order.
The Directorate has also directed the Assistant Director Fisheries, Kupwara, to make alternative staff arrangements to ensure the smooth functioning of the fish farm.
Additionally, the Assistant Director has been asked to submit a detailed report within three days, including the attendance and leave records of the suspended officials, to facilitate further departmental action.
