The encounter that started at Khrew area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday has been called off by the security forces after 50 hours, official sources told.
They said that after thorough searches, it was decided to conclude the operation. At least three residential houses were damaged in the gunfight that broke out on Wednesday. A soldier and a SoG man were killed while as security forces also recovered a body of an unidentified militant from the debris of the damaged houses.
“We have called off the operation after sanitizing the area properly,” a security official said. (KNO)
