Kavinder flags off J&K’s Baseball team for Nat’l

Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister today flagged off J&K's Baseball team for level tournament, scheduled to be held at Lovely Professional University Jalandhar.
Raju Sharma, president J&K Baseball team, Dr Gulam Hassan, Harvinder Singh, Ashok Jamwal and Hasina also accompanied the team to Jalandhar.
Former Deputy CM said that under the Khelo initiative, J&K also has made much progress as seen by the improvement in edifice. He said that LG Manoj Sinha's initiative has brought in New Sports Policy and people are motivated to join this arena as a career.He said J&K has no dearth of talent but there is a need for identifying the talented lot and providing them the best available coaching so that they find their rightful place in the national and events. He, however, expressed concern over implementation of New Sports Policy at ground level.
The former Deputy Chief Minister asked the J&K Sports Council to be proactively involved in promoting sports for which it must focus on providing adequate sports facilities, diet and sponsorship to sports aspirants on the pattern of Haryana Government so that our sports persons will be able to bring more medals for J&K.
