The situation in Jammu and Kashmir has normalized to quite a large extent as peace has been restored in the places which were earlier problematic as far as terrorism is concerned making the conditions conducive for the populace to participate in Republic Day celebrations being organized at various District Headquarters especially in Jammu and Srinagar, where the prestigious functions have been scheduled for the national festival on January 26, 2024.
In this context, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has also urged the people to actively participate in the upcoming Republic Day celebrations claiming that adequate security arrangements have been put in place.
Unfortunately, in J&K due to decades’ long terrorism, people used to shirk to attend the events organized on the national festivals viz. Republic Day and Independence Day but now the situation has become totally normal as violence mongers have either been eliminated or put behind the bars and there is complete peace in the District Headquarters although residual terrorism is still there in the remote areas of some districts, which is also being tackled with highest level of efficacy by the security agencies.
In J&K, the responsibility to actively participate in Republic Day celebrations with passion and ensure that the stadiums remain jam-packed becomes a collective duty.
Republic Day is not just a commemoration of the adoption of the Indian Constitution rather it is a celebration of India’s unity in diversity. Actively participating in Republic Day celebrations becomes a symbolic act of reinforcing the unity that transcends regional differences. Participation in Republic Day celebrations is an expression of patriotism, a sentiment that binds the diverse fabric of the nation. Jammu and Kashmir with its distinctive identity can contribute significantly to this patriotic fervour. Engaging in the festivities, showcasing cultural heritage, and displaying the National Flag collectively reinforce the shared commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution. The stadiums in Jammu and Kashmir where Republic Day celebrations are hosted serve as arenas of unity and togetherness. Jam-packed stadiums create an electrifying atmosphere, reflecting the collective spirit of the people. The presence of citizens in large numbers symbolizes their active engagement in the democratic process and their commitment to upholding the values of the Republic.
