    JKPS Officers promoted to SSP, SP Selection Grades

    Jammu Tawi, July 14: In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the promotion of several officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) across various senior ranks.

    As per the Home Department’s orders, three JKPS officers of the 2001 batch — Abrar Ahmad Choudhary, Gh. Jeelani Wani, and Amit Bhasin — have been promoted to the grade of Senior Superintendent of Police, Selection Grade-I (Level-13). Abrar Ahmad Choudhary’s promotion has been made notionally effective from December 24, 2024, and regularly with immediate effect, while the other two officers have been promoted with immediate effect.

    In another order, Kulbir Singh (JKPS-1999 batch) has been elevated to the Super Time Scale-I (Level-13A) following recommendations by the Selection Committee-I.

    Additionally, nine officers have been promoted to the grade of Superintendent of Police, Selection Grade-II (Level-12). These include Vinay Kumar (JKPS-2002), Parvez Ahmad Dar (JKPS-2007), and five officers from the 2008 batch — Tariq Ahmad Wani, Iftikhar Ahmed, Zoheb Tanveer, Rayaz Iqbal Tantray, and Amit Verma — along with Iftikhar Talib and Noor Ul Hassan. Notional promotion with effect from December 24, 2024, has been granted to five of them, while the rest have been promoted with immediate effect.
