    JKAS officer, kin booked for ‘siphoning’ migrants’ relief

    Tawi: The Branch, Jammu, has registered a case against J&K Administrative Service (JKAS) officer Neha Kashyap Pandita, her sister Meenakshi Pandita, a government teacher, and their parents for drawing relief meant for the Kashmiri migrants despite being in government service.

    According to officials, the FIR has been registered on the complaint of Dalip Sharma of Jammu, who alleged that the family had been receiving the relief illegally.

    Officials said the Relief Commissioner, in a written communication to the Crime Branch in response to a query, “had confirmed that all four family members had drawn relief meant for the Kashmiri migrants.”

    After registration of the FIR, the Crime Branch authorities have initiated the investigation and assigned the task to an Inspector rank officer. Sections 420 and 12B of the Ranbir Penal Code (IPC) have been slapped on them.
