Jammu, Nov 9: In a stern action against internal security breaches, two Special Police Officers (SPOs) were dismissed from service in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir for their alleged links with terrorists, officials said on Sunday.
The dismissed SPOs — Abdul Latief and Mohd Abbas — had earlier been arrested for their suspected involvement in terror-related activities, officials added.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, Mohita Sharma, issued immediate termination orders against both officers after preliminary investigations confirmed their alleged role in aiding terrorist elements.
Officials said the two SPOs are accused of providing logistical and other support to terrorists. The police department termed the dismissals a part of its zero-tolerance policy toward any form of collaboration with anti-national forces. (Agencies)
