“India conspiring to destabilize his govt”

mid many in the ruling Nepal Communist Party seeking Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's resignation, the Nepalese PM on Sunday said that even though the “game” to oust him from the post has begun, it is impossible to remove him.

Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli claimed that meetings were underway to remove him at a hotel in Kathmandu and an “embassy is also active in it”. FYI, he is pointing to India.

He said nobody has openly asked him to quit. “But I have smelt undercurrent movements,” Oli said while speaking at an event to commemorate the 69th birth anniversary of the popular leader of the Nepal Communist Party late Madan Bhandari at the Prime Minister's residence.

KP Sharma Oli has accused India of trying to destabilise his government and has alleged the Indian Embassy in Nepal was conspiring about the same.

PM Oli has claimed that conspiracies were being plotted against him since the constitutional amendment showing Indian land in Nepali map.

“There is an open race to remove me from the post. Nepal's nationality is not weak. No one thought that a prime minister would be removed from office for printing a map,” KP Sharma Oli said.

On June 13 Nepal's parliament passed the amendment to include the new political map featuring areas of Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura in its Constitution.

Nepal's Parliament voted on the map laying claim over the strategically key areas of Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura along the border with India, notwithstanding a strong protest by New Delhi. India has been maintaining that these three areas belong to it.

He said some Nepalese leaders were also involved in the game to remove him immediately.

Earlier, former PM and Communist Party president Prachanda said that on every front, KP Oli has been unsuccessful and he should resign from the post of Prime Minister of Nepal.

However, KP Oli has refused to resign from the post despite the raging internal conflict in the party. After his refusal, Prachanda even threatened to divide the ruling Communist Party.

Prachanda aka Pushpa Kumar Dhamal, who has earlier headed the country as a two-time Prime Minister, has also said that siding with KP Oli was his biggest blunder as a politician.

India-Nepal bilateral ties under strain

The India-Nepal bilateral ties came under strain after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated an 80-km-long strategically crucial road connecting the Lipulekh pass with Dharchula in Uttarakhand on May 8.

Nepal reacted sharply to the inauguration of the road claiming that it passed through Nepalese territory. India rejected the claim asserting that the road lies completely within its territory.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a senior leader of the ruling NCP told PTI that Oli's indication was his opponents within the ruling party, not from outside.

“There has been growing differences within the ruling party and the Prime Minister is being cornered within his own party and his own colleagues are criticising the government's performance,” he said.

Another NCP leader said that Oli's absence in the first two days of the meetings showed the growing differences between him and Prachanda.

Prachanda has time and again spoken about the lack of coordination between the government and the party and he was pressing for a one-man one position system to be followed by the NCP.
