Jammu Tawi: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Srinagar to establish a cutting-edge ‘Center of Entrepreneurship for Internet of Things (IoT) & Robotics’ at IIT Jammu. The MoU aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging technologies, providing a platform for startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs in the fields of IoT and Robotics.
The agreement was formalized at IIT Jammu, with Col. Virendra Singh Jeji, officiating Registrar of IIT Jammu, signing on behalf of the institute, and Asim Khan, Director of STPI Srinagar, representing STPI. Prof. Manoj S Gour, Director of IIT Jammu, attended the ceremony and emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in driving technological advancements and entrepreneurial growth.
The new Center of Entrepreneurship (COE) will provide essential resources for startups to develop, build, and commercialize innovative solutions in IoT and Robotics. Key attendees at the event included Dr. M.T. Arvind, Chief Innovation Officer at IIT Jammu, and several faculty members from IIT Jammu, including Dr. Nalin Kumar Sharma, Dr. Shiva Sekar, Dr. Sudhakar Modem, Dr. Padmini Singh, and Dr. Ankit Dubey. Fahad Mushtaq, Project Coordinator from STPI Srinagar, also participated in the event.
With this partnership, the COE aims to offer a vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurs and students to thrive in IoT and Robotics, equipping them with the necessary tools and mentorship to succeed in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
