Earlier, after opting to bat first, England made 337 for 7. Opener Johny Bairstow who registered his first World Cup century scoring 111 runs, declared Player of the Match. For India, Mohammed Shami was the most successful bowler who claimed 5 wickets, for 69 runs.
As a result of this win, England have now moved to the fourth position in the tournaments standing. They have ten points in eight matches, while India remains at the second spot with 11 points. India will next play against Bangladesh tomorrow, while England will take on New Zealand on Wednesday.
