New Delhi, Nov 30: Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on Saturday emphasized the importance of National Defence Academy (NDA) cadets carrying forward the valuable experience and bonds formed during their training as they move into their respective service academies. Speaking at the Passing Out Parade of the 147th course at the NDA’s tri-service training institute in Khadakwasla, the IAF chief urged the cadets to apply the training they received at NDA in the planning and execution of future operations.
Addressing the cadets, Air Chief Marshal Singh said, “The vast experience of training at the NDA needs to be carried forward to the respective service academies, and the bond created here must be carried towards planning and execution of our operations.” He expressed confidence that the cadets would embody the principles of jointness, a crucial component of modern military operations, as they step into their roles as future military leaders.
He further highlighted the pivotal role of NDA cadets in future conflicts, stressing that their leadership would be essential in ensuring the country’s territorial integrity. “High-quality training imparted at the NDA and other academies of the three services will guide you and equip you with the strength and confidence to boldly face these challenges,” he said.
The Air Chief Marshal also praised the NDA for its unmatched infrastructure and training quality, calling it “one of the finest academies in the world” and “the cradle of leadership.” He urged the cadets to lead by example through personal conduct, professional competence, and integrity. He encouraged them to make decisions fearlessly, trust their abilities, and remain motivated by the courage and sacrifices of their predecessors.
A total of 1,265 cadets participated in the Passing Out Parade, including 357 cadets from the passing-out course. The ceremony also saw the participation of 19 cadets from friendly foreign countries, including Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, among others. Additionally, 47 female cadets in their third, fourth, and fifth terms of training were also part of the parade.
Cadet Ankit was awarded the prestigious President’s Gold Medal for securing first place in the Overall Order of Merit, followed by Cadet Yuvraj Singh Chauhan with the Silver Medal and Cadet Jodha Thongiaomayum with the Bronze Medal. The Golf Squadron was presented with the ‘Chiefs of Staff Banner’ for being the Champion Squadron.
