Holiday on J&K Accession Day

Date:

Sir,

This is with reference to news item “Govt declares Accession Day (26th October) as holiday in J&K UT” while releasing a list of holidays to be observed in the UT of J&K. This is good news for the people of region whose long pending demand has been fulfilled. All local organisations crusading for the cause needs to be congratulated for their unrelenting struggle. The Govt of UT of J&K also needs to be congratulated for this welcome decision taken to declare 26th October as Accession Day, fulfilling the long pending demand of the Jammu region and giving joyous and delightful movements to the people. It would have given more hilarious movements for all if the 23rd September, the Birthday Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh too has been included in the list of holidays which is also a long pending demand of the people.

Yours Sincerely,

RAVI SHARMA,

JAMMU
