Gurjar Desh Trust pays glowing tributes to Dr. Masud Choudhary

Tawi, Dec 16: The Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, a social organization of Gujjars & Bakerwals of J&K, today paid rich tributes to Dr. Masud Ahmed Choudhary on his first death anniversary. Dr. Masud Choudhary was the Founder of Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust and its allied institutions including Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri. People from various walks of life participated in the programme and paid rich tributes to Dr. Choudhary for his contributions in the field of education particularly, for Gujjar & Bakerwal Tribals. The Trustees, Family Members, Principal Radhu Gupta with Students & Staff of KB Public School & other notables offered floral tributes & Fateha at his grave adjacent to GDCT.

The Programme began with the recitation of Tilawat-e-Quran. Haji Abdul Hamid Choudhary presided over the programme. Arshad Ali Choudhary, Sr. Vice-Chairman of Trust welcomed the participants. General Secretary of Trust, M.S. Chouhan & Zulkarnain Advocate conducted the proceedings. Shah Mohd Chowdhary Advocate Chairman of Trust apprised the participants about the achievements of Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust during the lifetime of Dr. Masud Choudhary & after his departure. Chairman assured the participants that the Trust will continue its efforts in achieving the future goals laid down by Dr. Masud Choudhary which includes, establishment of Tribal University, Tribal Women College, Coaching Centre for Civil Services, Nursing College, Skill Development Institutions, to make efforts for inclusion of Gojri Language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of , preserving the rich Heritage, Culture and Gojri Language, to make endeavors for protection of social, economic, educational, cultural, linguistic identity & other constitutional rights of Tribals of Jammu & Kashmir, opening Brig. Khuda Baksh Hr. Sec. School in Kashmir Valley & in Pir Panjal Region, expansion of Sardar Patel Boys Hostel & to set up Primary Schools in Gujjar Bakerwal-Areas etc.

Documentary on Life & Works of Masud Sahib which was prepared & edited by Dr Javed Rahi Chief Editor, J&K Academy of , Culture & Languages, Jammu.

The Students of Brig. Khuda Baksh Memorial Public Hr. Sec. School presented rich tributes to Baba e Qoum Dr. Masud Ahmed Choudhary Founder of Brig K.B Public School.

Mehbooba Mufti, Former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir lauded the contributions made by Dr. Masud Choudhary in establishing the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri & Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, Jammu. She while paying the tributes said that the role of Dr. Masud Choudhary in the field of education & also in preserving the rich Culture, heritage & language of Gujjar-Bakerwal Tribals is marvelous.

She also released a special number of Nawa-e-Quam, a weekly Urdu Newspaper on Masud Choudhary's Life & Contributions published by Ch. Salam Din Bajad Trustee & Former Dy DG, Doordarshan. A book titled Hayat Wa Khidmaat on Dr. Masud A Choudhary written by Liakat Ali Choudhary was also released.

Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din Former Minister & Trustee, Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhan Former DGP (Rtd) also shared his experience about his long association with Dr. Choudhary as Police Officer.

Mr. Zulfikar Ali Ex-Minister, Davinder Singh Rana, Aslam Qureshi, Khalid Hussain renowned Punjabi Writer, Khalil Ahmed Poswal Trustee, Bashir Ahmed Khatana, Master Mushtaq Ahmed Khatana Trustees also spoke on the occasion.
