Govt would do all to strengthen JK's infra: CM

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has assured the students and children that the State Government would do all it takes to provide an ambient for their physical and mental development.

Interacting with the students and players of various educational institutions of Valley here today, the Chief Minister said physical activities are a must alongwith studies and Government would make all efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure in the State. She asked them to actively participate in sports activities and emulate role models like Parvez Rasool, Tajamul Islam and others.

Several legislators, Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, officials of Youth Services & Sports Department and Sports Council besides sportspersons of several disciplines were present on the occasion.

The participants observed a two minute silence to pay homage to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa who passed away at Chennai during the previous night.
