Some of the most advanced human-like robots in the world were on full display last week at the World Robot Conference held in Beijing, China. The major robotics exhibition featured over 600 innovative creations from top robotics companies worldwide. Among the numerous robots showcased, five models really stole the spotlight with their advanced human-like abilities.
The conference highlighted China's growing focus on robotics development to compete with global leaders in the field like Tesla. Chinese government backing and private sector investment exceeding $100 billion in the past decade are fueling the nation's rapid robotics advances. From delivery bots to chef bots, here's a glimpse at the top robots that turned heads:
The Astribot S1 by Chinese startup Stardust Intelligence amazed crowds by flawlessly folding clothes and pouring wine like a human assistant. Another crowd-pleaser was NAVIAI from Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, wowing onlookers with its speech delivery, tea-making and chess skills. Delivery robot startup Agibot showed off five new bots capable of autonomous deliveries starting this fall.
Japanese company UniX AI showcased Wanda, a versatile home robot designed to handle chores like laundry, cooking and more. Meanwhile, Tesla's iconic Optimus robot sat on display though didn't demonstrate capabilities. Organizers emphasized the importance of improving reliability as 3D printing enables lower-cost production of robot parts.
