Father of Kulgam slain youth asks militants to show proof of his son being Informer

The father of Kulgam youth who was tortured to death by unknown gunmenThursday asked suspected militants to give him proof that his son was an ‘Informer' and aided army in killing militants.
Pertinently, armed militant abducted two youth from 's Kulgam district on Wednesday. The gunmen tortured Mehraj Ahmed Dar of Hawoora and Arif Ahmed Sofi of Khudwani and left in unconscious state. Mehraj is still untraceable while Arif was shifted to Srinagar hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night.
Arif was laid to rest on Thursday at his native graveyard. Over six thousand people participated in his funeral prayers that concluded peacefully and without any sloganeering. In his address to the mourners, Fayaz Ahmed Sofi, the father of the deceased youth said that his family always stood by ongoing Movement and being a member of the Jamat-e-Islami sacrificed everything.
“If my son has been killed by militants, I want to ask them to provide my proof that my son Arif was an Army Informer. I will not repent over the death of my son if militants will come up with sound proof,” Sofi said.
“As far as my knowledge goes, my son was ardent supporter of militants and ongoing Movement. I appeal you people to ask militants to come up with proof. They should clarify on which basis they killed my son,” he said.
Pertinently, no militant outfit has claimed the responsibility of the incident.
A police official said that they have registered a case and investigation has been started to identify the assailants.
