Earthquake shakes Doda
DODA ,APR 18–A moderate intensity earthquake shook Bhaderwah and other parts of the belt today morning , triggering panic among people. Reports said the quake, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, struck the belt at 11.40 am. However, no report of any casualty or damage to property has been reported. People are apprehensive of tremors after a study of the US scientists published last year predicted that there is a possibility of major earthquake in J&K.”We are apprehending big trouble as tremors of moderate and low intensity have become a routine in Bhaderwah Valley for some time now. But surprisingly nobody from administration or any of the seismic experts seems to be remotely bothered to locate the exact cause of these local earthquakes,” said a social worker, Raiz Ahmed Najar from Bhaderwah.
