Srinagar, Oct 15: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of neglecting Jammu and Kashmir’s real issues and aligning too closely with the Raj Bhawan.
“The BJP should have focused on the people of J&K, but for the first time in history, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) is acting as the spokesperson of Raj Bhawan,” he told reporters.
The Deputy CM also pointed to administrative gridlock, stating, “A crucial business rule file is lying with the LG and is not being cleared, hampering governance in the Union Territory.”
Taking aim at certain political figures, he remarked, “Some people who have crores of rupees in banks are now seeking shelter in political parties.”
Expressing respect for Peoples Conference leader Sajad Lone, Choudhary urged, “Say whatever you want, but your language should remain soft. His father was known for grace and dignified speech.”
On the BJP’s by-election candidates for two J&K seats, he said, “The vote has to be given by the people. Budgam’s electorate is wise and decisive. They know who took away our statehood, employment, and spread corruption in the name of development.”
Calling the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections a decisive political test, he added, “This election will determine who stands with the BJP and who stands with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The NC–Congress alliance is strong and will remain so.” (KINS)
