Dineshwar Sharma’s stature too low to resolve Kashmir Issue: NC

Date:

Srinagar, Dec 22 (KNS): The opposition Conference on Friday termed the GOI's special representative for - Dineshwar Sharma- as a low rung official having no mandate to resolve decades old Kashmir conflict.

The party has stated that Sharma's appointment was made by the government of in a bid to belittle the importance of Kashmir issue and hoodwink the that it is taking measures for sustainable peace in Kashmir. “Who is Dineshwar Sharma, a retired government official. Do you think that he has a stature to resolve the issue which is at the United Nations?,” NC additional general secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamal told KNS.

NC's most outspoken leader who is also uncle of former chief minister added further that Sharma who all is life remained a government servant cannot even understand Kashmir issue, leave alone doing anything for its resolution. “It is nothing but a mockery going on. It reveals nonsensical attitude of the government of India towards Kashmir. Mr Sharma says he will talk to roadside vendors-is this some kind of a joke?”

Kamal said that Sharma has no stature when it comes to the previous interlocutors who came to Kashmir and submitted their reports.”They were parliamentarians and senior civil society actors. Do you think Sharma can be compared with them? The fact is that the government of India is only trying to mislead the world community through Sharma's appointment. Only insane could pin hopes from his visit,” Kamal told KNS. (KNS)
