Jammu Tawi: Congress has taken strong exception to the unabated and selective targeted killings in the Kashmir Valley and demanded the Central and UT administration to ensure fool-proof safety and security of people, especially the minority communities in the Valley.
Expressing grave concern over the rising incidents of selective and targeted killings in the Kashmir Valley, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Vice President Raman Bhalla, General Secretaries Yogesh Sawhney and Thakur Manmohan Singh strongly condemned the gruesome killings of two School Teachers including Principal, both belong to minority community, today morning and expressed deep shock and sympathies with the families of martyred. They described the emerging situation due to the series of selective and targeted killings as grave and grim, as only two days ago the terrorists killed Makhan Lal Bindroo and two others at will. Sharing the detail of selective killings, Sharma said that the series of such selective killings has created fear psychosis amongst innocent people especially the minorities and others including the P.M. Package employees and others. The situation is alarming and reverting towards 1990, they said, asking the Govt. of India to wake up and take urgent measures to check this process immediately. Govt. should claim less and act more to ensure the safety and security of innocent people. They also demanded adequate ex-gratia relief to the families of the victims, although no money compensate the loss of lives to the victims families.
